So I've been knitting away on my Fourth Doctor scarf in hopes of having it ready for the upcoming New York Comic Con, unfortunately though I don't think that I'll have it ready. So in the meantime I've created a couple of other knitted creations to wear instead and show my Whovian pride with.
First up is a pair of fingerless mitts inspired by the infamous scarf. I learned some lessons the hard way as this was my first time changing colors while knitting in the round on some DPN's. Unfortunately this mistake is rather obvious when I decided to color change directly from stockinette to ribbing, but oh well, I still do enjoy them.
And I finally broke out the size 1 DPN's and some crochet thread to create a mini bowtie pin to wear, which was a lesson in patience when knitting in such a small gauge.
I need to figure out to knit something from the 10th Doctor, as well so all three of my favorite Doctor's will have some sort of knitted representation. I also plan on knitting one of the hats worn by Emma in Once Upon a Time as I've recently gotten into that show now as well, but I'll have to see if time permits.
Can't wait till the NYCC!

And Thus it Continues...
An update on the 12 foot long Fourth Doctor scarf from Doctor Who, which I've picked up and put down several times to work on other projects or just from the sheer madness of doing the same stitch over and over and over. . .
Anyhoo, I'm hoping that it'll be done in time for the New York Comic Con in October.

The beginnings of the scarf can be seen here.

TARDI-Card
I ended up turning one of my friends into a Whovian so I thought it befitting that for her birthday that I should create some Doctor Who themed item. So after being inspired from seeing a TARDIS card that someone posted to reddit, I decided to take a stab at making my own version. There are a few mess ups, as it has been quite sometime since I've done something like this, but I think it came out okay.

And Thus it Begins....
On my off time, I've decided to begin knitting a Fourth Doctor scarf from the classic Doctor Who series. I imagine it will be quite the endeavor as it's a 12 foot long garter stitch scarf, and well quite frankly garter stitch gets to be tiring and a wee boring to do after awhile. So in an effort to make this scarf in a relatively short amount of time, I'm going to hopefully make an update each week to see how far along I'll be to completing this mega scarf (although, the longest scarf worn on the show was about 20 feet long), all 68,772 stitches worth.
Week one:
If there any Whovians who would like to knit their own Doctor Who scarf check out this wonderful website (note, I went with a cheaper yarn than what was suggested to use): Doctor Who Scarf.

It Really Is Bigger on the Inside...
Let me just preface this by saying I'm a huge nerdy Doctor Who fan. I love the new series and I'm loving the classic series (I'm still making my way through the classic ones starting out with the awesome Fourth Doctor), so when I found out that there was a bar with TARDIS nearby I just had to go.
The Way Station bar in Brooklyn is a wonderful place and has a great atmosphere. The particular night we chose to go was Cyberman Sunday, when the bar was having a showing of some of the best Doctor Who episodes featuring one of the Doctor's formidable opponents, the Cybermen. Although it got a little hard times to hear what was going on, it was a super enjoyable wonderfully nerdy experience.
Also, not only is this bar super nerd friendly, but the drinks are wonderful and you definitely get a bang for your buck. Therefore I should definitely recommend trying the 10th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver, it's delicious, and speaking of delicious, if you're hungry they offer you take out menus from the area where they will indeed deliver right to the bar so you don't have to miss a moment of Doctor Who!
And this is where I would fail as the Doctor's companion as I could not quite figure out how to turn on the sonic screwdriver...
Definitely a place to go and check out, as well as, a place that I plan to go back to!
