Kingston Point Beach

Whenever I'm on assignment in Kingston, one of my favorite places to go edit photos, or enjoy some down time in between assignments is always Kingston Point Beach in the City of Kingston. It's a quite type place surrounded by seagulls (who, lets face are jerks, but are fun to take photos of) with a lovely beach that sits off of the Hudson River.

I was there just recently again and decided to whip out the camera and capture some fall foliage shots since I've neglected to do so this fall, hopefully I'll go out and get more eventually. But I digress, I just thought I'd share some recent shots:

2013 NYS Sheep and Wool Festival

So I must have at one point or another professed my love for all things yarn, right? If not, well I most definitely do and I have a yarn stash that can attest to that and a back log of projects to work on and so it is no surprise that I found myself  back for my third year in a row to the annual New York State Sheep and Wool Festival at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY.

With the help of my sister-in-law Magda, I ended up coming away with a modest booty of wool, sticking to my guns and not getting more than what the patterns I had picked out called for, which is rather hard to do at this festival. With the wide array of color choices and some of the softest yarns you'll ever come across I kept getting pulled in to the booths and oggling the skeins on display, but then a rational head prevailed as I looked down at my meager wallet and remember all the yarn I have waiting for me at home.

On another note, it seems as though the festival is growing in size every year bringing people from all over the country, which Ris rather a cool little thing if I do say so myself. It's refreshing to see people your age (20 somethings), both men and women, buying up yarn and knitting, after all it's not just for little old ladies anymore...

2013 New York Comic Con - Saturday

And I present my second day at the 2013 New York Comic Con, which was a wee bit crowded to say the least. A quick tip that I learned from last year, which came in handy this year, is that if you're going to a panel and it seems as though it will be a popular one, you should line up an hour early, bring something to keep yourself occupied.

One other major tip I definitely have to recommend it to get yourself a lunch before going to the Javits Center and stock yourself with plenty of water and snacks before hand. I made the mistake of not packing a proper meal for Friday and ended up spending $10 on a small wrap, which I remedied on Saturday all by simply stopping at a Subway and grabbing a 6-inch sub and cookies all for $5, aka save your money for cool con deals and not spend oodles on sub par food.

But I digress, Saturday was splendid and here it is:
