Come to the 5th Annual Shoreline Spring Festival!

If you're in the Madison, CT area tomorrow, come and visit Twisted Thread and Hook and I at the 5th Annual Shoreline Spring Festival on the Madison Green! Twisted Thread and Hook will be selling her wonderful hand made crocheted rugs, bath mats and door mats and I'll be selling a few prints. Besides us there will be over 100 other vendors to stroll through and see their amazing handmade wonders.

Did I mention that we'll be there rain or shine tomorrow? Hopefully there will be less rain and more shine though!

Spring Showers

After an afternoon assignment was unfortunately cancelled due to the weather, I decided to make the best of it and sort out the colors of spring popping up around the Hudson Valley and found some beautiful flowers dappled with rain drops.

While not a flower, I had to take a photo of this little guy scoping me out from his squirrel home.

Poet's Walk

Poets' Walk Park

Now that the last snow drifts of winter have finally melted I decided to explore more of my backyard in the Hudson Valley. It was particularly nice and sunny day when after a quick assignment for the newspaper over in Kingston I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and drive across the Hudson River to Red Hook and check out Scenic Hudson's Poets' Walk Park and I'm glad that I did.

The trail is short and meanders through fields, a wee ravine and up through a bit of woods and although it is more of a stroll than a proper hike, don't let that stop you because the views offered here can be quite stunning. An added bonus is that the tract of land you wander through has an interesting and storied past to it, which you can read on the sign just before entering.

You're also bound to bump into a few people as you go, even on a weekday, when I visited, there were a lot people out enjoying the park as well. So with that, I'll take you on a quick tour:
