Fourth of July Fireworks at the Poughkeepsie Waterfront

So after some plans falling through, I decided to join my family once again at the Poughkeepsie waterfront to watch the ever growing Fourth of July fireworks show. I debated whether or not I wanted to bring my camera out to capture some of the show versus just sitting back and enjoying, and well the results of my decision is displayed below.

Tripod in hand, shutter release cable and my trusty Nikon D700 and 24-70mm f/2.8 I tried a new style of capturing the display this year that I'm rather pleased with.
